the pre-season finally ends
It seems like it’s been going on forever, no? I’m sure I’m not the only one anxious to see La Liga and La Champions begin!
Anyway, Madrid traveled to Germany, Robben dedicated his goal to Sneijder in street clothes, Metzelder got a nice homecoming, CRon took his shirt off again, Iker posed behind a sign for Laiker (the non-alcoholic beer from Mahou – one time when I was at the Bernabéu, the side advertisement was showing Laiker, and I got a picture of Iker standing in front of the “la” part so it looked like he was in front of a sign that said “iker”), Benzema won over the Bernabéu with his performance in the Trofeo Santiago Bernabéu, Míchel said goodbye to his fans, and Xabi, Granero, Garay and Arbeloa were presented to the afición (yay for there being three Spaniards, and among them, one canterano). It’s nice to see that De La Red is still very much considered a member of the team – he was there for both of Salgado’s farewell dinners. Oh, and it was also goodbye to Robben and Sneijder, mucha suerte in Germany and Italy! And we won the museum some shiny, new hardware…
So the preseason ended, and it went Madrid-Ireland-Madrid-Toronto-DC-Madrid-San Sebastián-Madrid-Germany-Madrid.
