I love it when Madrid’s players hang out together, because it means they get along, and because we get to see wonderful outfits such as these, worn to Guti’s party celebrating his 14 years with the club yesterday. After reviewing all the footage of the players, I can only come to the conclusion that this is what went down:
Guti: hey guys, I’m having a party to celebrate my 14 years at the club. Hope you can all make it!
Real Madrid veterans: great! Let’s secretly have a contest to wear the ugliest top we can find!
Sergio: I have a great gold blazer/pants/necklace combo that will look great! I had been saving it next to the green jeans for a special occasion. I’ll be the shiniest person there!
Drenthe: I have a plain zip-up, but I can stud it with gold studs along the waistband and pockets for some extra bling. And some silver threads to highlight the elbow patches… I’ll get my bedazzler out right now!
Iker: hmm, this shouldn’t be too hard, anything in my closet will do. I know, I’ll do a 90s look: a black satin bomber jacket with a big multi-colored patch of ugly on the back, and my Jerry Seinfeld white sneakers with black ill-fitting black jeans. And as the pièce de résistance, my brown murse. (But somehow, the worse Iker dresses, the more adorable he becomes).
Gonzalo: my quilted black jacket which looks like a Chanel purse!
Real Madrid newbies: we’re sitting this one out, we haven’t been long enough at the club for our fashion choices to become questionable. Give us a couple of months though…
Benzema: Ok, I won’t wear The Vest.
Special mention goes to Pepe’s sneakers, which I liked! And too bad Cristiano wasn’t there – I would have loved to see what he would have come up with!
