World Cup press conference

Any press conference made up of seven Real Madrid players is bound to provide a lot of good moments for fans like me, because I love seeing the interaction between the players.  Yesterday we had Rafa van der Vaart, Benzema, Iker, Cristiano, Kaká, Pipita and Metzelder representing their respective countries at a press conference held to get their reactions to the World Cup draw earlier in the day.

First off, the outfits.  We got to see each of the players, outfitted in identical jackets, put their own stamp on their outfit: Iker with capris and knee socks, Cristiano with shorts and knee socks, Kaká and Metzelder with shorts and short socks, and the other three in pants.  Coincidentally (or not), Kaká’s sneakers matched his Brasil shirt.

Next up, evidence that the bromance has blossomed even further.  Brazil and Portugal being drawn in the same group was the perfect excuse for Kaká and Cristiano to share more jokes and meaningful looks.  They came in together with their arms around each other.  I think the Real Madrid PR people put Iker in the middle of them to cool them off a little.

Some more observations:  I’ve never seen Iker so happy at a press conference before, did anyone else notice that Kaká and Iker exchanged shirts at the conclusion of the press conference, and I’m not liking either Cristiano’s earrings nor the blond tips on his hair.
