A whole bunch of Madrid players attended the Alicia Keys concert last night in the Teatro Real. According to the press, Cristiano, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Raúl, Iker, Kaká, Rafa van der Vaart, Sergio Ramos, Higuaín and Drenthe were all there. The Dutch contingent sat together on their own balcony, with Sergio and Cristiano on another, and Higuaín in a third, while the other players were spotted down below. I imagine this as sort of a field trip for the players.
Raúl, Rafa, Kaká, Ruud and Drenthe were accompanied by their respective wives Mamen, Sylvie, Carol, Leontien and ? (I don’t know her name, she’s pretty though).
Poor Iker looked quite alone on the red carpet (although I’d be more than happy to accompany him – my idea of paradise). However, two women that he has been linked with, Ariadne Artiles and Sara Carbonero, were both in attendance, along with his favorite TV presenter, Anne Igartiburu.
Kaká even tweeted about the event, saying it was spectacular and giving us a photo of the duet between Alicia and my beloved Alejandro Sanz. I can imagine Kaká and Cristiano knowing all the words to the songs and singing along (with their arms around each other of course)! Perhaps Carol was there to keep them apart? In any case, Kaká was kissing her and not Cris!
I wonder how much of the concert Iker understood? We all know his English* isn’t that great… Of course, I would be more than happy to act as translator. The same goes for Sergio, although I know the majority of the players there all speak English.
Iker is also reported to have stood up and danced to “Looking For Paradise.” That I can’t imagine.
And apparently Cristiano, in an attempt to elude the media, left the concert in a Hyundai, in order not to draw attention to himself. Sergio showed up with a mystery date (some reports have him saying it’s his sister, but it doesn’t look like her) and a pink scarf (shakes head).
Cheers to the van der Vaarts for not wearing head to toe black. And how fabulous are Sylvie’s hair and shoes???
