– this game was, of course, the first time Madrid has won at the Riazor since Nov. 2, 1991. That would be 19 years ago.
– this was the starting line-up: Iker, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Albiol, Guti, Benzema, Marcelo, Raúl, Arbeloa, Kaká and Granero. What do you notice about that line-up? That there are 8, yes 8 – eight – Spaniards! I love it!!!
– this is the first time this season that there has been so many Spaniards starting. The last time this happened was against Levante in 2007, when Capello started Iker, Salgado, Sergio Ramos, Helguera, Miguel Torres, Guti, Raúl and Reyes, and Madrid lost 0-1.
– Raúl returned to the starting line-up after 11 games as a substitute.
– nice touch with the t-shirts to dar ánimos to Filipe Luis.
