499 and counting…
Congrats Iker!
This weekend’s game in Xerez will be Iker’s 500th official game with Real Madrid, providing, of course, that he plays (and there should be no doubt that he will). It’s taken him only 10 years to reach this illustrious number, and is especially significant because goalkeepers are hardly ever substituted. In fact, of these 499 games that Iker has played in, he has only been a substitute in two of them, one of which was La Novena, and we all know how that turned out. (The other was the Madrid-Atleti game in the 99-00 season).
Marca [2010-02-11] has a nice little graphic breaking it all down.
Now the important question is, in how many of those games did Iker have a beard, and in how many did he not, and what was the win-loss record?
