the international break…

March 3, 2010

With about half of Madrid on international duty, including about all of their regular starters, the training session yesterday was quite sparsely attended, in contrast to the usual.

Over here at this blog, I’m also lacking things to write about, so I’ve done some catching up, and written some posts that I had been meaning to write for a while.  So hopefully you’ll be amused by those, and also by this video, which comes courtesy of Adidas.

Basically, Xabi and Arbeloa, along with national team teammates the Davids, are drafted into becoming salesmen for national team gear.  The results are hilarious, especially Álvaro.  He manages to make a sales pitch in both English and Spanish, is asked if he’s going to the World Cup, and tells a customer that the blue of the shirt suits him.  He’s good.  Meanwhile, Xabi is not recognized by a customer.

If they approached me, I’d ask if they are included in the price of the shirt, and ask if Iker could be thrown in as a bonus.
