The recent news is that Madrid was the club with the highest overall revenue in the 2008-09 season, but here is a different take on revenues: according to this little graphic from the folks over at The Economist, Real Madrid ranks fourth in terms of matchday revenues per supporter, after Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United (and ahead of Barcelona). You’ll notice that Madrid is the top non-British club on the list.
Now, can anyone figure out why The Economist chose a picture of John Terry to accompany the graphic?
