Guti, Sergio & Cris want fans to get excited
… for tomorrow’s Champions League game against Lyon, of course. I mean, what other ways would they have to get girls fans excited?
Anyway, before we get to that, I just have to say I love Champions League games, or rather the practices beforehand, because the world press comes to take pictures of our boys, not just the usual realmadrid.com/Marca/AS photographers. So here is a selection of today’s practice pictures.

Meanwhile, the support of the fans was all anyone was asking about yesterday and today.

First, at yesterday’s press conference, Cristiano had this to say:
The fans made a great impression on me last Saturday. We have to thank them for the support they gave us. I hope to see the same thing on Wednesday, because the players need that in order to play well and to win. I’m confident that the Bernabéu will be full of fans supporting us.

Sergio – looking like a bullfighter – also talked to Marca yesterday [published in today’s Marca of 2010-03-09] and said:
Against Sevilla, we felt the affection of the fans. They pushed us and we felt it. They even managed to intimidate the opposition, and I would like to tell our fans: we are going to advance. I ask them for all their support because we’re going to have another magical night.

And finally, Guti talked to realmadrid.com and had this to share:
When you go out on the pitch and hear the support of 90,000 voices, you feel like you can’t let them down.
I wish to send to the fans a message of optimism and hope. We want them to know that the team will give it everything it’s got, play to its full potential. Their help and support always make things easier. I know for sure that we can advance if we all work together.
So, en fin, let’s all go out and support Madrid tomorrow – cheer your little hearts out and believe in a comeback – in advancing to the next round of the Champions League!
