Done laughing at some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous hairstyles? Good. Then read on.
In case you were wondering about Marca’s transformation from a sports newspaper to a tabloid (witness their recent rumor-fests about Higuaín and Pellegrini), well they took one more step over the edge today with an article dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo’s hairstyles.
Yes, you read that right. A sports newspaper reporting on hairstyles. (Although I confess, if I had a sports newspaper, I would report on things like that, but I wouldn’t also claim that it was serious journalism).
Anyway, Marca went so far as to get the opinion of Luis Llongueras, a famous Spanish hairstylist who has his own chain of salons in Spain (I even had one near where I lived before, though I never ventured inside). He talked about Cris’s previous hairstyles and his recommendation: shaved on the sides, with marked lines on the side of the head (kind of like Benzema, no?) The lines are supposed to give Cris the “sensation of speed.” His drawing of his preferred hairstyle for Cristiano Ronaldo is below. OK, then.
As I said before, I prefer Cristiano with his hair as it is now, parted on one side and heavily gelled. It makes him look like an old Hollywood star.
Updated: like this, from today’s training session.
