UPDATE: Here is the full interview and pictures from Esquire!
Yes, the image is the size of a postage stamp, but still better than nothing right? Plus, it gives us something to look forward to!
Xabi Alonso (and his beard) is the cover boy for the April edition of Esquire España. In the interview, he talks about his experiences in Liverpool and Real Madrid, and his preparations for South Africa.
We’re told that he’s a city boy (he opted to live in the center of Madrid, instead of out in the ‘burbs), doesn’t go anywhere without his MacBook, loves “Mad Men” (you think he picks up style pointers from the show?) and also said:
People have a curious love-hate relationship with Real Madrid. Wherever you go, there is always a group of a couple thousand people waiting to take pictures or applaud, whether it’s in the airport terminal or at the entrance to the hotel. You think, “Damn, there are madridistas here?” But when you’re on the bus going to the home field of the opposing team, things change radically. You can tell from the gestures and shouts of the people that they don’t love you as much anymore.
Magazine is out on Tuesday!
Making of video here (he’s a natural at this modeling thing, isn’t he?):
