los capitanes take the tour

In the latest issue of emadridista News (subscribe via Madrid’s web site), Madrid has the four captains take the stadium and trophy tours.  They also ask them about each other, and their most memorable trophies.

Iker deserves praise, for not following his captains and going the route of the white sneakers.  Meanwhile, Sergio got all dressed up, although I’m not a fan of the pointy shoes.  Raúl opted for a sportier look, but it’s Guti’s that I like the most (even with the white sneakers).

Guti on Sergio: he has a tremendous future, and has everything needed to play many years in Madrid and win many titles.

Sergio on Guti: Guti is a great person.  We love having him as a captain and teammate, and he’s an example for everyone.  He’s a very unique player and Real Madrid is lucky to have him.

Raúl on Iker: he’s the present and the future.  He has a great personality, is a grand professional, and is an example for everyone who comes to Madrid.

Iker on Raúl: he’s a great captain, having learned and taken the best from Hierro, Redondo and Sanchís.  We would like him to teach Sergio these qualities.

Together, they have 26 titles.  Speaking of their most memorable trophies, Guti says his is la séptima, his first Champions League cup, while Iker talks about la octava, his first ever trophy, which he won during his first year on the first team.  Raúl opts to say all of them, and Sergio chose his first Liga cup (he has a few less than the others to choose from).
