eight years ago today…

Can you believe it’s been eight years since Zinedine Zidane won us la novena with this sublime goal?  On the one hand, I can’t believe that time has passed by so fast.  On the other hand, you think, it’s been EIGHT years, EIGHT since we last won a Champions League trophy, definitely too long.

Of this game, I remember this goal, and of course Iker coming in during the last moments of the game to produce some wonderful saves which literally saved Madrid.  And for his tears once the game was over, just like during la octava.  I miss teenage/young (and beardless) Iker.
