Continuing from the previous post…
Six. Best wishes for a swift recovery to Lass, who is suffering from intestinal pains and stomach cramps related to sickle-cell anemia. Lass had to drop out of the World Cup for this, as a large amount of rest was recommended.
Seven. We got our first glimpse of
He already knows what to say to please the fans: “The Bernabéu always impresses, and I’ve always liked it… I’m looking forward to the pre-season with Real Madrid.”
I never realized how blond Sergio was, and how blue his eyes are! I’m looking forward to seeing him play with Madrid, and hopefully he will bring us some luck, as we’ve always had a player from Cantabria on the team when we’ve won the Champions League!
Eight. Iker’s showing up in more ads for PLAN, the NGO that he contributes to. Charity work is sexy. If there’s anyone that can stop childhood poverty, it’s him.
Nine. Will he stay? Will he go? I’m referring to Guti, of course. I need to know now, because I have to start placing bets on what hairstyle he’ll have next season, if he stays. Anyway, according to Cadena SER via AS, Guti told Jorge Valdano that he’ll like to see out the rest of his contract and stay next season. Meanwhile, Marca quotes Guti as saying that he hasn’t decided on his future yet.
Marca also reports that Guti’s good friend Wesley Sneijder could be returning to the Bernabéu, as he could accompany his current coach TSO to Madrid. I don’t know if he’ll want to, because he’s won the treble this year with Inter, and he’ll have to learn to start losing again if he rejoins Madrid.
Ten. On the subject of Dutch footballers, how cute are these pictures of the van der Vaart family from the Netherlands training camp? And I love that Damian is wearing a mini-Real Madrid kit, with his name on the back!
Eleven. More Madrid-players-in-the-World-Cup news. ESPN has produced this horrific ad of Kaká to promote its games. It looks nothing like him.
Twelve. Kaká’s best friend Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, appears to be having a grand time with Portugal. First, he arrived at the training camp in a helicopter. Then he smiled a lot when he realized how good the blue training shirt looks on him. Add to this a giant statue of him in a Lisbon shopping mall? The only thing that could bring all this crashing down was a 0-0 draw against Cape Verde, which showed the bad side of the Portugal team, and also proved that Cristiano’s purple sneakers do indeed clash with the maroon kit of his country. I can’t help it, I have to say I told you so!
Thirteen. And finally, some cute pictures from the Madrid Masters a couple of weeks ago, via Dona da Bola.
What do you think the “A” boys are looking at? Perhaps at Sergio Ramos in his Indiana Jones outfit, as Marca so eloquently described it. I’m quite horrified by that little ponytail.
Fourteen. Please, please let us get David Silva.
And thank you for reading this far!
