can they just un-retire already?
Luis Figo and Zizou took part in another charity match yesterday, Soccer Aid. This is a charity event which takes place every couple of years, and pits England vs. the rest of the World, with teams made up of celebrities and World Cup legends. Proceeds are donated to UNICEF UK to help children around the world. You can donate here. In case you don’t remember, these two Madrid legends took part in the Corazón Classic Match last week.

Side note: I hate that some media define Zinedine Zidane’s career by a single incident, the head butt. This problem has been exacerbated by the upcoming World Cup. To you media people: Zizou has accomplished SO MUCH more than that and is one of the greatest players in history. And in his retirement, he’s dedicated himself to charity work. Please stop focusing on that one event.
In other Zidane news, he took part in another exhibition match (see, he’s still EXTREMELY fit to play) on May 25, between Calais and a team made up of France’s 1998 World Cup champions. Love the lurid pink outfit!

And a bonus Zidane pic to send you on your way, this time he’s helping France secure its bid to host Euro 2016 on May 28. Who else can look this good in a suit jacket and jeans?

If Zidane remains retired, at least we still have Enzo and Luca to look forward to!
