everyone we sent is still there

June 28, 2010

Real Madrid is not doing too badly in the World Cup!  All teams featuring a Madrid player are through to the round of 16.  And yesterday, Argentina booked a place in the quarterfinals with a 3-1 victory over Mexico.  One of the goals was scored by Pipita, which brings the Madrid count in this World Cup to 6.5.  Pipita is also currently the pichichi of the tournament, with four goals.  I’m also loving those shades of blue on Gonzalo!

The Netherlands will play Slovakia tonight, and Rafa is doubtful until the last minute, after he left the training session yesterday with some muscular problems in his right calf.  Also tonight is the Brazil-Chile game, which will see the return of Kaká after his suspension in the previous game.

And of course Tuesday is the day of the big Spain-Portugal match, which on this blog means Iker-Sergio-Xabi-Raúl-Álvaro vs. Cristiano-Pepe.  It’s still not known whether Xabi will make it to the game, but Albiol is definitely out.
