I left my heart in San Francisco…
… and my mirror in Madrid.
Iker and Sara are looking all loved up in San Francisco, but my eyes go directly to her shoes. They’re Ugly, yes, with a capital “U.” I thought her previous choices (see here or here for a reminder) were bad enough, but these are hideous. And they can’t be comfortable for doing touristy activities. I was thinking of doing a post on her shoes during the World Cup, but thought that might be a bit mean (ans considering she brought five suitcases, surely the odds were that at least one pair of shoes were cute).
Anyway, if the shoes weren’t bad enough, there’s also the sweatshirts to consider. Looks like Sara and Iker didn’t do any research on San Fran, and didn’t realize how cold it gets there. They were spotted buying sweatshirts, which they later put on. Iker’s choice? A tourist-approved San Francisco lifeguard hoodie. Sara’s choice? There’s nothing that screams tourist more than a “USA” sweatshirt. And of course, the manbag made the trip as well.
I’m disappointed because the two of them have the potential to look great, but this is how the end up looking. Here’s to hoping that José Mourinho can coach Iker in fashion this season as well as in football.

I love Sara and she is gorgeous but I have to say she has definitely a lack of sense of fashion!
Her shoes are always horrible and her clothes not the best either
This time i have to say, in the bottom pics at least, they look appropriately dressed for the place, they’d easily blend in .. Sadly this is how most people dress here in the US.. plus they were drinking Starbucks!
How tall is Ms. Carbanero? It seems that she favors these platforms because they give her a couple of extra inches without putting stress on her calves… Although, I do agree they are some pretty fugly shoes.
Also I don’t think you can fault their choice of sweatshirt… every single sweatshirt in those shops by the Pier are going to be super-touristy.
I still think I see a tiny improvement in their clothes ;). And you can’t say they’re not freaking cute in those sweaters, they’re like every tourist out there. I did the same when I was in Madrid, bought an ‘I heart Madrid’ sweater, even though now I only wear it at the gym.
I don’t know why I can look past the ugly shoes and the manbag this time. I think because they look so cute and in love and touristy! As long as Iker is happy then she’s fine with me.
forget sara, iker looks good for once!!! the jeans are amazing and the shoes go so nicely with them, i think a first of iker no?
arghhh if she is going to be with him the least she could do is get him to dresss better they’re like a fashion train wreck together
For Sara, those heels aren’t even that high, I think. At first it annoyed me, I hate that women feel like they need to wear high heels. But she seems so committed to a truly towering heel that I guess she just really loves it.
Anyway, I’m sorry that even on vacation in America they’re being followed by paparazzi but I am amused by that top middle picture – their vacation photos will have a picture of the paparazzi, a bit of turnabout!
I totally agree with you about the wasted potential, though. When people are just being held back by their styling, it’s so frustrating! XD
Other than her shoes, which I agree aren’t the best, I don’t see anything wrong with how they look. The USA sweater is fine…even the lifeguard hoodie…the only I’m wondering about is why they chose SF to vacation in/at(?). Everyone else is only some island enjoying the ocean and sun and they’re…there. Refreshing, I guess…
They could look better, but I find it cute that they look so, well, normal on holiday- like a pair of tourists, which is exactly what they are- jeans and sweatshirts, seems perfectly fine for tourists in America. And Iker’s clothes and shoes aren’t even as hideous as usual!
I’m glad to see them looking so relaxed… they must love being away from all the people who know who they are/follow everything they do!
I’m American, so the sweatshirts make me happy cause they are so touristy! So funny.
I really wonder how Sara manages through the streets of San Francisco in those wedges. Unless they are deceiving and are actually comfortable? I kinda like those wedges, but just not with how she paired them with the jeans.
As for Iker, I’m pleased with his shoe choice in this set. In certain photos, he looks shorter than he really is, because of either the shoes/clothes or how the proportions in length just cut his height shorter.
I kind of think it’s cute that they seemed so normal. & I don’t think her shoes are that bad, but the way she pairs it up with her outfit makes them look uglier.
of ftopic but wanted to share http://www.diariofemenino.com/hombres/son-noticia/galerias/sergio-ramos-luce-cuerpo-broncedo-cadiz/ 🙂
A shirtless Sergio Ramos can never be off-topic!
Here in San Francisco almost every tourist buys a SF sweatshirt or fleece because they don’t realize that summers here are quite cold. Right now, it’s 55degrees, (12 Celsius) for example. They all pack their shorts and sandals and go out on their first day and almost die from hypothermia.
The Wharf (where these photos were taken), being by the bay is quite flat. I don’t think la Sara had to traipse up too many hills.
It’s an interesting choice for a vacation, but I remember what Klinsmann said when he came here in the summer; he liked being able to move around without being spotted. I think SF is the type of place where even if someone recognizes a celebrity, we feel like it’s cooler not to react and let them enjoy themselves. so maybe that’s it.
Her shoes are nasty but they are both so cute together I couldn’t care less. Iker’s hoodie did make me laugh though.
@Mila, it’s too small, right?
Sara has actually had those shoes a while – I’ve seen them criticized on other pages in the past. Interestingly enough, San Iker probably fits in quite well in SF – many men there have hand bags!
I agree with most of what everyone has said…cuuutteee!
Although…why hasnt anyone noted how ADORABLE Iker looks taking the pictures with the sunglasses in his mouth?
