Guti in graphic form
July 26, 2010
A nice graphic from newspaper El Mundo, summarizing Guti’s career at Real Madrid on the left and his statistics from last season on the right.
It still hasn’t really sunk in that Guti is leaving, and to have Raúl announce just one day after that he too will be leaving (at least I’m assuming that’s what will happen at his press conference today)? It’s a hard week for el madridismo!
We need some good news!
Sergio Ramos, go to the beach, take off your shirt, and get photographed again. That will help a little. But if you bring Iker with you and convince him to do the same, it will help a lot. Remember, you two are the new captains and it’s up to you to keep the fans happy…

A truly heartfelt plea there, UnaMadrista 😉 I’m sure The Ramos will answer that call – there’s still a week left before pre-season training, right?
Do teams normally have two captains? Are Iker and Sergio Ramos co-captains? Sorry to see Guti and Raul go, but Iker now captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish NT :)?
Real Madrid usually has four captains, which are just the four players who have been with the team the longest. Iker will be the first captain, and Sergio the vice captain. Diarrá will be the third, and the fourth will be either Marcelo, Gago or Higuaín – they all joined at the same time, so I don’t know how it will be prioritized.
I can’t stop crying reading tweets from @realmadrid about Raul’s press conference.. I wish i were there..
Hope you’ll make Raul’s post soon. Please include many photos from his last day at Bernabeu if you can.. Gracias.
And then after the boys take their shirtless beach shots, they can continue making fans happy by burning their respective wardrobes, and then letting us take them shopping.
Captain’s duty, right?
What else do the captains do besides the player exchanges, armband, coin toss, etc during the games?
