Álvaro Arbeloa has confirmed – via twitter of course – that he’ll be wearing 17 this season, like he did on the national team during the World Cup. And if you click on that link, you’ll also notice that he has already updated his twitter user name! That man moves fast!
Other expected changes: Xabi Alonso to move to the 14 vacated by Guti, and Cristiano to take over the 7 left available by Raúl’s departure – as Cris said yesterday in his press conference, Raúl would be happy for him to take it. Both these moves will allow these two players to wear the same number at their club and national teams.

Apparently Stuttgart has confirmed it, but Madrid has not (yet).
good thing i didnt purchase an alonso 22 jersey this morning like i was planning to!
I know it’s just a number and it shouldn’t bother me, but I really do wish that Cris would keep the number he’s got.
