To borrow from Marca’s classic headline once more, because nothing else quite sums up Raúl’s first steps with new club Schalke.  On Saturday’s LIGA Total! semifinal against Hamburg and Ruud van Nistelrooy, Raúl started but didn’t score (he nearly did so however) but had a pretty complete game (Ruud did score, ironically off of a Metzelder mistake).  In the final on Sunday against Bayern Munich, Raúl opened his German account, netting two goals as Schalke took home the LIGA Total! Cup.

Oh, and after the semifinal, Ruud and Raúl exchanged shirts.  Ruud said afterward, “it makes me very happy to have the shirt in which he made his debut” and “Raúl is going to score a lot of goals with Schalke, I’m sure of it.”
