and back to Madrid from Munich
August 15, 2010
RTVE followed up this article with one about the return flight to Spain, after Real Madrid finished beating Bayern Munich on penalties to take the Franz Beckenbauer Cup home.
The cup traveled to its new home in row 27 of the airplane, stretched out over three seats and bound in place by three seat belts (it really is huge!).
Around it, there was silence, since it was well after midnight when the flight took off. It would arrive in Madrid at three in the morning. The players slept or listened to music, and only Xabi Alonso – once again – felt the urge to walk around and talk with others. He only returned to his seat – he was talking with Iker – when the plane was about to land.

Xabi still suffers the jet lag I guess.
Hmm I wouldn’t have expected Xabi to walk around being Mr. Social-Butterfly on a plane. It seems like he’s the type that people go to instead of vice versa. Interesting..Gosh, I learn something new about these guys everyday! 😀 Once again, thanks Madridista!
Holy crap that cup is huge. No wonder Iker almost dropped it.
