One.  Transfer market news – Royston Drenthe has been ceded to Hércules for one year, and Rafa van der Vaart (boooo) has been sold to Tottenham, although the transfer is not yet complete, because the required documents arrived 10 minutes after the deadline closed.  The Premier League will announce their decision today on whether the transfer is valid.  Is it too mean to hope that the Premier League rejects the transaction and that Rafa can return to us?

If both transfers go through, then Özil will wear the number “23” and Mateos the “15.”  If Rafa is unable to go to Tottenham, then Özil will take on the “15.”

Two.  Injury news – Pepe trained normally and with the team for the first time yesterday since being injured against the Galaxy three weeks ago (he also had the time to joke around with Marcelo).  It looks like he’ll be ready to be called up for the next game against Osasuna next weekend.

And it’s so convenient that Cris and Kaká are both injured and recovering, together, no?  That means both have an excuse to spend even more time together…

Three.  Training news – José Jr. was at the training session yesterday, hanging out with his dad!  How come he doesn’t have a personalized shirt with J.M.J. (or T.S.O.J.) on it?

I hope this means we’ll be getting to see the kids of the players as well, training with their dads!

Four.  Sergio news – it looks like Sergio Ramos will also be playing as a centerback with the national team, after Carles Puyol had to abandon the training camp with an injury to his left calf.  Good, because I don’t want him getting confused due to the switching back and forth between positions!

Five.  Mourinho news – he’s not Harry Potter, magic doesn’t exist in real life, but football does.  Seriously, TSO said all that.

Six.  Player news – in the same interview, Mourinho talked about the two Germans.  We find out that so far the only Spanish they know is “buenos días” and “hola,” and that neither speaks English well, that one of the assistant coaches speaks German and acts as a translator, that Özil and Khedira aren’t hanging out with the rest of the group (yet), and that they spend all their time together.

Seven.  I love this team news – hello Antonio Adán!
