I like the sound of baby football

September 12, 2010

José Mourinho Jr. (above), the 10-year-old son of José Mourinho, is currently playing as a goalkeeper with famous “baby football” team Canillas, on the Alevín B team.  He played a big part in his team’s 9-0 win against San Roque yesterday, with three fantastic saves.

Who else plays at Canillas?  Theo, the third son of Zidane, who is also a goalkeeper like older brother Luca and TSO Jr., and Ronald, oldest child of [original] Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, Enzo Zidane debuted with the Cadete A team of Real Madrid yesterday with wins against Rayo and Calasanz in the Torneo Nuestra Señora de la Consolación.  Today they’ll play the semifinal game and also the final, if they win the former.

Update: the Cadete A team lost in the semifinal against Getafe 0-1 but beat Atlético in the consolation game 3-2 to end the tournament in third place.  Enzo scored one of the three goals in the consolation game.  He wore the number “11” and was listed as “Enzo Fernández.”  Meanwhile, his brother Luca was named as the MVP of the Stadium Venecia Zaragoza tournament, where he played with the Infantil B team.

Awww that’s so cute! And wow a team of superstar heirs, that must be funny “did you see what my Daddy did yesterday?!”.
Does anyone know of any footballers’ daughters playing baby football?

so cool to know about the youngsters. How did the tournament go for Cadete A & Enzo?

And how are the Benjamines doing with Guti’s Junior, Aitor?

Omg, they are SO cute! And so tiny! I love how the back row are all desperately squishing in for the photo, too…

Now we just need a daddies & babies footie match, or “take your children to work day.” (Pretty please, Mou? And Old Boys need to be invited, too…)

Or, um, “take your brother to Jennifer’s house” day. Iker & René can both participate in that one… you ladies are welcome to join, of course. Ahem. O:-)

Thx for the updates on the kids! So cute!
I like how Enzo Zidane is always listed as Enzo Fernandez so that he doesnt get (too much) undue attention and so that no one will think he gets any special treatment.

I can’t believe Zidane’s son is old enough to be playing! Wow, how time flies….
