the news to know from Wednesday
Real Madrid was back in training not even 12 hours after their win over Espanyol, to start preparing for Saturday’s game against Levante. Cris didn’t train with the rest of his teammates, and stayed inside. I hope he’s ok!

If you were wondering why the players were wearing their game jerseys and shorts during the training session, it’s because they shot the official team photo right before the training session. I hope we get to see it soon!
An observation: was this really the best day to take photos? I mean, the players probably didn’t get very much sleep, since the game ended at midnight, then they had to change, talk to the press, eat dinner, go home… and then be back in training at 11:30h. I hope the lighting at least was much better this time, to avoid a repeat of this.

On Wednesday, the RFEF also held the sorteo for the Copa del Rey pairings in the round of 32. Real Madrid will face Murcia, with the first leg on Oct. 27 and the second leg on Nov. 10. Murcia currently plays in the Segunda B. These games will pit the Albiol brothers against each other, since Miguel Albiol plays for Murcia.
And Sami Khedira held his first press conference after the session (not including the one on the day of his presentation) and said the victory against Espanyol was well “deserved”, and that Cristiano is an “excellent” team player. He also recognized that the game wasn’t the prettiest one. Sami also revealed that he’s taking Spanish classes just like Mesut, and each day understands a bit more. I’m sure he will be giving press conferences in Spanish in no time! If the past is to give any clues, it will be soon, because generally speaking the German players, along with the Dutch, seem to pick up castellano much faster than players from other countries.

Meanwhile, the Bernabéu continued getting a face lift, which will take a total of 30 hours after things got started right after the Espanyol game ended. This means the stadium will be ready to host Depor on Oct. 3. In the end, the new field was purchased from Slovakia.

LOL! I love that pic where Benzema is walking through. All the players in their look like they are in pre-school, like Benzema is looking at Arbeloa like “that is a funny position…” and Granero is trying to stretch with major concentration like the coach told him, and the best being Dudek who is having a temper tantrum with his water bottle! Like he’s saying, ” no! i wanted warm milk not cold milk!”
hahahha
i love my team.
Oh no, yet another photo of Sergio’s head suffering from macadamia nut syndrome 😦
Team photo! 😀 After seeing the abysmal head shots, I’m estimating that a total of three players will have awkward looks on their faces, and at least one will have his eyes closed and/or be looking away.
After being engrossed in these lovely posts everyday, inspiration lead me into taking a beginners Spanish class! *high-fives Sami and Ozil* 😀 “beginners” meaning 12-14 year olds.. but I’m friends with the teacher so I won’t want to stab myself in the eye too soon.
Yay! Congrats on the Spanish class, it will make your life (more) amazing! 😀
(P.S. What on earth is macadamia nut syndrome? His head looking like a nut?)
I know! I’m so exited for the first class 😀
And lol yes his head does look like a nut, seriously. I don’t want to cast you back to the miserably dark time when he first cut his hair, but if you haven’t completely eliminated that horrible memory from your mind, you’d remember that his hair made his head look like a macadamia nut when his first snapshot debuted.
I just saw the video from taking the team photos. No words can express, so many moments that I would like to see again and again. (my only complaint is that apparently someone thought that they should take the pics only in the kits, there’s no shirtless option, what is a shame from the marketing point of view. Can you imagine how much they could earn from selling the shirtless photo of the team 2010/2011))
I am sure you’ll write about it Una! I cannot wait for your opinion!
I think you need an “incase you missed it-music edition” for Wed…
First, the “music video” that Real Madrid posted on their website to accompany the team photo news and then of course there is this…

I wrote about that Kaká song back in June.

Players will love the new field!! Good stuff!
here is a video of the “behind the scenes” of taking the team photo:
So many cute moments…my faves are Cris sneezing during the photoshoot and Xabi & Higuain touching Sergio’s hair! 😀
