There’s not much more on this in the print edition of Marca today, just that the players know that Mou’s rules cannot be bent, and that what they’re most disliking at the moment are: the concentraciones before home games, the fact that the training sessions start one hour earlier than normal (at 10h rather than 11h), and that family members have restricted access to Valdebebas.
And in case you’re wondering, these are the players with children: Dudek, Albiol, Xabi, Arbeloa, Cristiano (I sometimes forget!), Kaká, Marcelo and Carvalho. As stated earlier, only Jerzy and Ricardo’s kids are of school age.
On the same page, Marca also compiled a list of Mou quotes that he used to motivate the players.
To Di María, during the pre-season friendly against Club América:
You, wake up, you’re making me look bad!
To Benzema, during a training session:
If it were up to you, I would start training sessions at 12, because at 10 you’re asleep and at 11 you’re still asleep.
To Sergio Ramos, after the Real Sociedad game:
Carvalho, Marcelo and Pepe played very well.
To the team, against Real Sociedad:
How can a team that was just promoted dominate us like that? We haven’t even had a shot at the goal! I don’t recognize any of you.
To Morata:
Get up, in English football they wouldn’t even blow the whistle for that.
Which of these is your favorite ‘Mou-ism’?
