one more Mou mystery solved

September 23, 2010

Apparently Mou yelled at his players during halftime of the Espanyol game, like he did during the Real Sociedad game.  On Saturday, he had been upset with the defensive mistakes and the bad play, and of course threw a water bottle in disgust.  On Tuesday, there was apparently another dressing down in the locker room, which was sort of confirmed by Ricardo Carvalho and Sergio Ramos.  Both were asked if Mou had lost his temper the halftime, and Carvalho’s answer was, “a bit.  It’s normal, when the team doesn’t play well, he doesn’t like it.”  And Sergio responded, “well, it’s normal, at times we need him to yell at us, to put pressure on us to get us to react.”

Now we know why Mou always leaves the field before the half!  He has to prepare what he’s going to yell say!

I hope his tactics work, and that the players respond!

Given how he looks during the matches, I think Sergio & Carvalho are probably understating the case quite a bit…
