one Marca story I hope is true

September 24, 2010

This is one Marca story I hope is true, and I really can see it being the truth.

According to players on Madrid’s youth teams (starting with Castilla and going all the way down to the juveniles), Cristiano Ronaldo is the nicest player on the first team.  Those who have run into him the hallways and pool of Valdebebas (the places where the youth players coincide the most with first team players) say that he greets everyone he meets and always has time to chat with them.  Cris asks them how they are, how they’re playing…  And he even told them what he was doing to recover from his injury, how he was, and doled out advice to prevent injuries.

Cristiano is also quite attentive with the canteranos that come to train with the first team, offering to help them out with whatever they need and in general being affectionate with them.

The youth players also cited Diarrá, Pedro León, Granero, Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Arbeloa as nice guys.  And Sergio Ramos has been seen on occasion at Castilla games supporting the team, while Adán and Mateos are frequent spectators at the Alfredo di Stéfano.

I can see that being the truth too… in any case, I’m glad there are stories like this written about Cristiano, at first I had a bad impression of him from reading gossip stories in British tabloids (which can be much worse than Marca–they completely make things up sometimes!)

*I mean, not that Marca can’t make things up… but if they do, it’s usually based on at least a little truth.

I just wanted to tell you, the worst media is the BRITISH MEDIA. Don’t read their tabloids trust me.

As for the truth, this is the truth.
To me, Cristiano is a family man. Look what he did to his mother when she had breast cancer.
Look at how much he cares about his father. Have you seen his relationship with his nieces and nephews? He once said, “I wish I wasn’t famous. I really want to take my nieces and nephews out to have an icecream or something.”
On and off the field, he is determined. He is willing to do all the best. He also has a good relationship with all his teammates.

haha, yes, I agree with you about the British media!
and that’s a really sweet story about his nieces and nephews!

I like when there’s positive news about Cristiano, since most tabloids seem to focus on selling his ‘bad’ side.

So I hope the story is true too, as football players don’t start out as superstars – it’s nice to see them helping out youngsters.

First of all what do I do first thing after coming home from work – check your blog, hehe.

I find it a bit strange that Iker wasn’t mentioned. Also have the impression that his relashionship with Marca is not the best at the moment. At first that thing with training times, now this. Or maybe I interpret too much into this.
Apart form that I absolutely believe what they say about Ronaldo.

It’s great to actually read positive articles on Cron for once. Poor guy… I wonder how on earth he deals with all the negative stuff that most publications (and I use that term loosely!) seem to love to print about him constantly. I mean, how the hell do you deal with such negativity all the time?

Wow, what a positive article from Marca. I hope this is true, too.

Well, I’m pretty sure the part about Cristiano being attentive with the canteranos that train with the first team is true, just based on last year’s and this year’s training videos and photos. 🙂

I’ve heard this before, several times, it wasn’t just this article, so I believe it’s true.

Lol. You don’t know him at all then. All that his RM team mates have said over the last year and the way he interacts with kids makes this the most plausible story Marca has ever written.
