they get paid for this?

October 22, 2010

I’ve often said that La Roja’s training sessions remind me of anything but training, since those boys always seem to be having such a great time, whether they’re chasing each other around, forming conga lines, practicing karate kicks or dancing.

This morning, it was the turn of the Real Madrid players, as the field at Valdebebas could have passed for a playground.  And several of the players (I’m looking at you Sergio C. and Juan Carlos) fit right in, in that scenario.  They were all led by the most popular kid in the class, Marcelo.

Or, the class bully, depending on how you look at it.  Is he making fun of Cristiano’s goal celebration?

I’m jealous of Marcelo.  Look at the gif on the left and you’ll see why.

Anyway, they played a fun game in which they could only pass the ball via throwing and score via headers.  And I threw in that last picture just because it’s Iker.  And he’s bending over.

And Raúl Albiol was like the hall monitor, responsible for handing out the vests to the players, and castigating them when they misbehaved.  He looked a bit like a bullfighter at one point.

The only negative note of the session was that Sergio Ramos wasn’t out there with his teammates.  He also wasn’t called up for the game against Racing, but this does have one positive note – he gets to travel to Oviedo with Iker for the Príncipe de Asturias awards ceremony!  That means that Iker will have someone fun to talk to on the plane, as the other passengers are FP and JV.

Watch a video of the training session here!

    lol@ Iker manhandling Marcelo….

Maybe this is Mou letting the others try out for reserve C goalkeeper? Too bad Sergio wasn’t there to show why Mou chose him for Plan B.

Thanks for the amusing news unamadridista – highlight of a tiring day!

okay, this is awesome! I really wanna work at Real Madrid now and watch scenes like that every day now.
Marcelo is one of my new hilarious idols (next to Alvaro), he’s so damn funny I can;t even! The Crispy’s impersonation is priceless!

Too bad Sergio’s not there again! I feel like he’s missing so much, especially now because the team seems to be better and better with every game and he misses that! I hope it will be all good when he comes back!

Hahaha Marcelo cracks me up. Where does he get his energy from? He must be the most amazing Dad ever! And I don’t blame you for your jealousy, Una. Who wouldn’t want a rough handling from El Capitan? 😉

Thanks for taking the time to put all of these on your site; they really look like a team that likes being with each other. Marcelo always seems to be so happy. If you have anymore Sami pics can you put them up? Thanks !
