What is with these French club officials making slightly strange statements about Karim Benzema?
Guy Roux, the legendary former manager of Auxerre, said about Karim recently: “he lived his entire life in a neighborhood of Lyon, in a very familiar atmosphere, and he was taken care of by everyone. His friends were the kids he played football with on the streets. And his parents were always nearby. But in Madrid, he’s alone. HE MISSES HIS MOTHER.”
And of course, last year Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, said, “I saw him in Madrid and he lives alone, in a house without furniture.”
Poor Karim!!! I really hope he does well soon!

I wish i could take the next flight to French and pick the Benzemas family to Madrid right away. They could stay there for a week or so just to cheer Karim up.. 😥
me too! wonder why his mom can’t fly out for a visit. Come on Madrid guys, can’t you share your moms with him. A surrogate mom might help in the meanwhile :[
me three! actually I was in France few days ago, but I didn’t know that the situation is going to be so bad. anyway, I believe in Karim, I know that he can do it! I just hope that Mou thinks the same.
On Punto Pelota the other day, Karim said that his parents do come to visit once in a while, but can’t come too often because his younger brothers are still in school.
Speaking of Punto Pelota, I think you two (at least you, Una) should start translating the others inteviews too. I mean, you could try, right? Please?
As for Benz, it seems like he has to learn living on nis own. I sure can accompany him. 😉
‘in a house without furniture’…I hope he gets furniture soon!
Seeing as the comment was from last year, I’d hope he has furniture by now (!!).
They make him sound like the loneliest person on earth.
He ought to have some friends out with him or someone from his management team…does he even have one, or a solo agent?? The simplest thing, given his primary family can’t/won’t move his siblings, would be to hire a friend as an Assistant or in some support capacity so he has that familiarity and company, plus someone to do the practical things.
Hope he’s more settled now though. Just a question of whether he’ll get the chance to show what he can do on the field in the current climate…
I hope he is not already dead to Mou:(.Some people adjust quickly whereas for others it takes time.If he plays tomorrow I really hope he does well:)

I don’t get when I hear players complaining that they miss their mommies. They make a lot of money they can’t just fly their moms over? Hell they can buy them a house and have them live where they play. I think Messi does that.
Also seriously no furniture? Are they not paying you enough to go buy some freakin furniture?! Hell I have no furniture but that’s because I’m broke. I like Karim Benzema but c’mon his life doesn’t sound bad to me at all. If he misses his family and friends he has the money to fly them over I’m sure.
Oh goodness… how depressing!

Oh good I don’t feel so bad, I laughed too. It’s so pathetic it’s funny. I can almost hear the sound track of “I’m so lonely” in the background. Poor guy, he just needs to buy some furniture and hang out with the other boys. Nothing helps homesickness more than creating a community of friends to be your substitute family, and frequent visits from friends and your real family.
LOL no furniture, seriosuly you guys… the man works for the riches club in the entire world… he must make enough money to buy a hole furniture company.
And the hole “i miss my mom” thing, i think its cute.

send a private jet to pic up your mom, u know what u should do : Send 2 plains, one over to france to pic up your friends and family, and one to Algeria to pic up the rest. Wouldn’t that be nice.
