a look at the Premios Alma fashions
Now that we have a few more pictures from Thursday’s Premios Alma, we can do a fashion post! I still haven’t found a picture of Mahamadou Diarrá’s jacket, but it was certainly the most interesting thing seen on the orange carpet that night.
As for the people whose pictures we do have, let’s start with Rafa Nadal. He looks pretty great, no? I like his suit, his shirt and his belt. He really cleans up nicely from his usual attire on the tennis court!
Meanwhile, I think both Iker and Sergio had to wear full suits, because they were presenters at the gala. (I wonder if what Sergio is holding in his hand is notes for his speech during the ceremony)? However, they both managed to give it their own personal touch.
As stated before, it appears that Iker and Sergio repeated their Príncipe de Asturias awards outfits, but with some accessory changes. Iker’s suit still does not fit him properly (but I do like this tie better), and Sergio’s shirt and tie here are an improvement over those worn in Oviedo, in my opinion.
Some of the others came in jeans. Besides Esteban Granero, Pipita and Ángel di María, Sergio Canales and Marcelo were also in denim. Eze and Gonzalo look great, no? But I dislike El Pirata’s cuffed jeans (reminds me of an Iker outfit, and that’s never a good thing), and I absolutely dislike Ángel’s jacket/jeans combo. Separately, the pieces might not look so bad, but together, they’re a disaster.
The award for worst shoes of the night go to Cristiano and Marcelo, both for matching bright, white sneakers to their outfits. I don’t like Marcelo’s sneakers, but at least he wore them with (too baggy) jeans, so he can pass for casual. Cristiano, on the other hand, paired his with a suit. No, no and no. (And just look at that right hand of his, itching to give a thumbs-up).
Kaká, on the other hand, looks fantastic. He has a nice, well rested look about him, no?
It also appears that a couple of guys also wore their official Real Madrid-sanctioned traveling outfit sneakers.
Mou looked great (no surprises there), and here is Mesut’s “súper elegante” look, which I do like, although he’s a bit too shiny for me, like Xavi was in Oviedo.
And though we can only see parts of him, my best dressed for the night goes to Xabi Alonso, for wearing a suit, and totally owning it, as only he can do. His hair is perfect as well, as is everything else about him. It made him look like he was attending a completely different event than some of his teammates. Well done, Xabi. Well done.
You could definitely give style lessons to some of your teammates.

Iker and Sergio better buy more suits if they’re going to be presenting/accepting so many awards. Strike that, Xabi should buy the suits for them! Besides, he has once again proven that he is the definition of class.
A disaster walking on a pair of legs is one thing, but two pairs of legs?! However, *sigh* Argentinos, those smiles make everything better 🙂
Iker, will you stop making the Unai impersonations?! Fine..if you insist on verifying that the state of being in love with two brothers is acceptable, then so be it!
Honorable mentions: Marcelo and Ozil! They are both so adorable I just want to slip them into my (breast)pocket 😀
Oooh…Xabi qualifies for the next James Bond. Charismatic.
Rafa too, looks great.

…….
I like the navy suit and cognac accessories on Sergio but the blue shirt tries to hard to match but doesn’t. It’s bothering me. Also, the white tie is a BIG no for me
Sergio’s suit is black, and his shirt is blue. That’s why the stuff doesn’t match!
Sergio with what might be his speech, so cute 😀 lookin good Sergi, I love his slicked back hair…
Pics of our boys *walking* are always nice to see, we get a good look at them compared to them zipping past the cameras during games 😉
Oh, Xabi. *___* At least Raul & Alvaro don’t look too shabby next to him!
I really like Pipita’s outfit, he looks dashing.
ohh Mesut… you want to play like Xavi so you shine like Xavi no? I’m not so sure about his shoes, the white outline… a bit weird.
I love your fashion posts, they are the best!
As much as I love Mesut, I am not a fan of shiny suits in the slightest. Oh Xabi, you are sheer perfection. You’re like the George Clooney of Real Madrid. Please dress your teammates.
…I know what you’d like to do with Mesut’s suit…ehem….or Mesut minus the suit…;)
Truer words never spoken! I am hoping that like George Clooney (and my longtime fave David Beckham), Xabi will only continue to get more good-looking and increasingly awesome and ever more devastatingly classy with age.
Xabi will always win.. B-)
He doesn’t even try to look perfect..
I like el Pirata’s jeans, because they’re not pseudo washed out and got a great colour. So I’ll overlook the bottom.
Xabi, oh my, he’s looking so handsome in this suit. Too bad that the photographers neglected him during the event.
o cris those shoes… how on earth did you even think that it would look good with your outfit?!!
Wow. And for all these years, I just assumed that everyone in Europe was automatically born with a sense of style. Little did I know that white shoes with a black suit was lurking out there, somewhere, waiting to rear its poorly coordinated head. CR obviously wants people to see his feet moving, whether on the field of play or out in the world. And Iker seriously needs to work with someone. Okay, fine, have your flannels and white Reeboks for your daily wear, but please, get a well fitted suit. Does he not realize that they make the best suits in the world in MILAN? hmmmmm… get measured by Luigi before CL game, pick up sweet new suit after. But, you know, in the end, he is Iker and Iker can do whatever he wants cuz he’s THE man… 🙂
and another thing…
RM should just suck it up and pay for an image consultant to come in and get these guys dressing appropriately. And, NO, it will NOT be Guti! Especially crackovia Guti. Weahh!
we all act so surprised that xabi is best dressed and many others are fashion disastors (though sergio looks great imo. of course i’m madly in love with him and blind to any bad things he wears). if our boys knew how to dress it would just be unfair to everyone….i mean there already the hottest club team ever!!!
Esteban Granero- hands down best dressed.
BY FAR.
‘my best dressed for the night goes to Xabi Alonso’
I’m 100000% agreed Una! Xabi’s fashion class should be opened for his teammates (and the additional teacher is Kaka)
And Mou should also give them orders of how to dress (he’s their coach any way)
