it’s raining madridistas…
It wasn’t only snowing in Zürich last night, it was also raining madridistas! Several former and one current Madrid player arrived in the city to support their respective World Cup bids.
On one side, that of the Iberian 2018 candidacy, we had Luis Figo, Fernando Hierro, Vicente del Bosque and a very clean-shaven Iker Casillas. Cristiano Ronaldo was scheduled to come along for the ride as well, but his ankle injury prevented his participation. He didn’t have permission from Mou to attend, since that would mean he would miss two physiotherapy sessions.

The Iberian bid will face competition from England, which was represented by their ambassador, David Beckham. I’m not feeling David’s hair! And to complete the “galáctico” (though I hate that word) trio, Zinedine Zidane, the official ambassador for Qatar’s 2022 bid for hosting rights.
The winners will be announced at 16h local time today. Hopefully Spain and Portugal will get their early Christmas present of a successful bid, and we’ll get our early Christmas present of seeing Becks and Iker reunited (and it feels so good)!

Hopefully spain-portugal will win:) Im crossing my fingers:):):) but why do I get the feeling that they will give it to England, I know I should remain OPTIMISTIC!
I’m not feelin’ Dave’s hair either.
It went to Russia for 2018 and to Qatar for 2022.At least they can go play over there and hopefully win:)
Crossing my fingers for España & Portugal!
I just read at Marca that Rusia “won”. Too bad.
Extremely gutted it wasn’t the Iberian bid, or England, either… but congrats to the Russians for 2018~
Hallelujah, its raining Madridistas! ….God bless Mother Nature, shes a single woman too! —-crap thats gonna be stuck in my head for a while 😉
I wish it WOULD rain Madridistas, it would surely lift my spirits after Spain/Portugal not winning the 2018 bid 😦
una, i think you forgot paulo bento in that pic (he’s lurking behind VDB) ;p
he’s portugal’s NT and cris’s playing partner a long time ago while in sporting i think
I know who he is, but the post is about former and current Madrid players, and he’s not one of them!
