the injury report

Remember how Mou was worried at the very beginning of this season about how his front line was a bit sparse? Well, it appears that his worst fears may soon become a reality, since Gonzalo Higuaín may have to have surgery for a herniated disc, after tests yesterday confirmed this injury. Pipita, Mou and the team’s medical staff will meet with a specialist to determine the best course of action. Right now, Gonzalo’s back is not responding to treatment and so other options are needed. If he does indeed have to undergo surgery, he could be out two to three months. The original Pipa, who went to the hospital with his son, told Argentine radio that it started off as a pain and got worse, and that the family is going to Argentina to consult with specialists and get a second opinion. He also revealed that Gonzalo had been playing hurt since the game against Milan at the Bernabéu, and that he can’t move normally at the moment. Mou also accompanied his beloved Gonzalo at the hospital. Whatever they decide to do, I hope Pipita recovers completely, and that we won’t miss him too much!!
Meanwhile, Kaká is recovering nicely and has been given a specific plan of field work to gradually help him reincorporate into the group. It’s expected that this will happen near the end of January.
And Cristiano Ronaldo did not train yesterday, is receiving medical treatment and physiotherapy, and his presence for the Valencia game is questionable. I wonder which canteranos Mou will call up? I’m hoping MFC Álvaro Morata will get a chance, and that the team will consider reinforcing themselves with canteranos. And I also hope that Benzema will take advantage of this golden opportunity to show el madridismo that he’s worth it.
The other player on the disabled list is Fernando Gago, still recovering from the swelling in his left knee, which he originally injured back in August and later re-injured during a training session in early October.

…is this real life
….are you quoting ‘David after the Dentist’? lol
After ALL that’s happened this week, I think I should take a trip to the dentist for some Nitrous Oxide 😛
…and if you werent quoting…disregard this comment 😉
I actually started crying when I read about Pipita. What the hell are we going to do for the next match?
this is just not our week, is it! i wish our next game were against some inch-from-relegation team that RM could thrash to get their mojo back, they definitely need it.
And the good new is?? I guess the Kaka news is encouraging. Feel terrible for Pipita and hope whatever course of treatment the specialists decide upon resolves his pain. Maybe he will have time to tweet regularly while he is recuperating – just trying to find a silver lining here 🙂 As for Karim I would love for him to seize this opportunity, that kid has so much talent – but not much I have seen convinces me he has the fire to do it – maybe I am being too harsh. Off to follow the World Cup bids – good luck to Spain/Portugal and to England [I am torn!]
So, let me see if I understand this….this Saturday against VALENCIA we are without Pipita, Sergio Ramos, Carvalho, and possibly Cristiano?
Is there ANYWAY this can end well?
i’m a big fans of real madrid.. but i never like CR..that guy have a skill but his attitude is bad..i prefer kaka..
this is just depressing! As much it kills me that he’s been in pain for over a month, I was hoping Pipita could recover without surgery though that seems really unlikely now 😦
2 months is an eternity, not to mention we’ve very few options with substitutes…
he’s literally irreplaceable!
Poor Gonzalo! I hope he will be fine soon, but of course, the most important thing is his health! It’s not worth risking hurting the back more, so I hope that any plan they would like to enforce towards him, would be a wise plan!
I can’t wait for Kaka to return!
Last but not least – I have lost count on who will not play against Valencia! On the other hand, that will give the chance to shine for some players that usually do not get a lot of playing time. Maybe Canales will be called for more minutes? it’s gonna be an interesting day.
The Father will play, right? I hope! Xabi’s playing is crucial!
Aggg So that makes most of our team injured and a couple more suspended!! 😦 That’s terrible…as for Pipita…just when I started loving him too!! 😦
“I’m hoping MFC Álvaro Morata will get a chance”—this might sound terrible, but that’s what I thought first after Oh no!!
Well this is random and off topic but…..is that the new audi that Pipita is driving? Already so dirty! tsk tsk tsk someone needs to go to the car wash 😉
I wanted to cry when I read the news about Pipita yesterday. And every time I think about it, I have tears in my eyes. For now, I refuse to accept the fact that he would be out for 2-3 months… This horrible week really needs to end ASAP!
No Pipita? D:
No Cris? D:
D:
Oh no!!!
We might have to sign a striker in January. Unless they believe one of the Canteranos can get the job done???
i really hope benzema can step up and help out while pipa is out…. i hope we win against valencia….. oh and did anyone notice pipas car is in need of a car wash lol =) it looks like he went off roading or something
=(…I’ll continue to have faith. Come on Benzema!!!
