carrying on the family tradition

December 14, 2010

As you know, Real Madrid recently updated the fichas of all the players in their youth systems, bringing us this.

From Alevín B, we have Benja Garay, the 10-year-old younger brother of Ezequiel Garay.  He’s also a central defender, and unsurprisingly, his favorite player is his brother.  (And unfortunately, Benjamín was never in the Benjamín category).

One of the players of Cadete B is Alfonso Adán, younger brother of (and a mini) Antonio Adán, and he is also a goalkeeper.  He’s 14 and his brother is also his favorite player.

And on Castilla, we have Javi H., the 21-year-old cousin of Guti, who is also an attacking midfielder and a confessed admirer of his cousin (I’m sensing a couple of themes here, no?).

And of course, we also have three of the four little Zidanes in the cantera (Elyaz is still too young to join, but he does play football).  Theo is eight years old and a forward with Benjamín B.  His favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo.  Luca is 12, plays as a goalkeeper with Infantil B and admires Iker Casillas.  And Enzo is 15, plays as a midfielder with Cadete A and is more loyal to his father, listing Zidane as his favorite player.  I hope Elyaz grows up to be a defender, so we’d have a Zidane for every position!

And Miguel Pardeza’s son Dani plays with Juvenil C, and Chendo’s son Eduardo is with Alevín A!

Bonus:  here is the profile of MFC and here is that of MS(econd)FC.

sorry this might sound stupid but why zidanes kids have diffrent last name?

    • December 14, 2010 23:00

To help them stay a bit more anonymous, as you can imagine the pressure and attention that comes with the Zidane last name. Fernández is their second last name, their mother’s last name.

Garay’s brother seriously look like Garay!(:
its kinda nice of him to take his brother with him from Argentina.. and even make him join the real madrid youth squad!, nice one Garay:P

Lol, can’t wait to see ”Junior cristiano ronaldo” join the real madrid youth club! gosh, i’ve seen that baby, and BOY HE LOOKS LIKE HIS FATHER!
no, like seriously, he was caring the same jacket as his Father! how arrogant is that.. lol.
I like ronaldo, i really do… but sometimes his ego can get higher then the sun. Name your son after yourself?..
Kinda funny cause Jose Mourinho did that too (well, so i’ve heard).. is it like popular in Portugal to name your son after yourself.. hmm.. i guess i’ll never know:D

Btw, why doesn’t Casillas brother joing one of the youth squads?? i should!

Awww, Theo look so CUTE! he looks like a little Chinese..
how can he even look like that?? he’s father is ALGERIAN and his mother is SPANISH!
Gosh, i wanna be half half too, and still look like someone from a hole third place!
Oh my god Luca is a hottie.. he’s gonna be a fiiiiiiinnnneeeeeeeee guy when he grows up (he’s already good looking now, and he’s freaking 12)
If i was some years younger, i would totally go for LUCA!!

FOR GOD SAKE!! that’s not Enzo! he’s much hotter then that!!
i can’t believe real madrid used that pic of him! he looks like someone who’s dying!!
He’s much more hot then that! i have seen pics.. and boys is that boy fiine or WHAT!
its not fair for him! with this pic he’s the ugly duck front of his brothers!
Don’t get mistaken by this.. he’s so much more good looking then that!
he kinda look like Kaka, and kaka is most definitely HOT!

how funny is that! i’ve notice that Enzo is Spanish-french, and his brothers are just french.. how can that be? because of the national squad thing??

    whaaaattteeevvvveeeeerrrrrr

    lets move on.. haha

    okay last thing:

Cant wait to see Luca Kaka play for real madrid!
Hahaahaha, Madrid in 10 years is gonna be a bunch of legend sons:D

Yes, I’ve heard that it’s tradition to name children after their parents in Portugal…
