Kaká’s back! And Sergio too!
And Gago! And MFC!!! Bring out the confetti and party hats! It’s been so long since we’ve seen Ricky and Fer!
Madrid held their last training session before tomorrow’s game against Sevilla (they always seem to play Sevilla right before Christmas, no?). Present at the session were Sergio Ramos, Kaká AND Fernando Gago, who trained at the same pace as their teammates. Among those teammates were three canteranos, Pacheco – now a regular due to the absence of Dudek -, Juanfran and MFC. The only players missing were the injured Dudek, Higuaín, Canales, as well as Xabi Alonso, who will be sitting out the game (by the way, he’s been called up by the Euskadi team for their friendly against Venezuela on Dec. 29 at San Mamés).
I love these photos, even though MFC looks a bit frightened there.
Sergio was subsequently called up to face his former team. Khedira also made up, after missing out on the last game due to suspension, as did the three canteranos who had trained with the team today. Kaká and Gago didn’t make the cut, as they are not yet match fit. The rest of the call-up looks like this.
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Adán, Pacheco.
Defenders: Arbeloa, Pepe, Albiol, Carvalho, Garay, Sergio Ramos.
Midfielders: Khedira, Lass, Diarra, Granero, Özil, Di María, Pedro León, Juanfran.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Morata.
In his press conference, Mou confirmed that Sergio would start, as would Arbeloa.

Yeah!!! Sergio’s back!!!! Me happy happy 🙂
ohhh, Christmas gift- Sergio either playing or at least sitting on a bench!!!! cool!
Great to see Kaka and Gago, I missed them, especially Kaka. I cannot wait to see him play again!!!
Even better: Sergio giving an extra special hug to little Jesuito! 😀 (wait, Jesus isn’t still injured, is he?)
Kaka and Gago! 😀 Also, whatever the heck might be under that hat, I’m glad Gago’s kept us all happy and covered it up.
Haha, Pepe really does have an eminent fondness for the canteranos, no?
Lovely news, thanks Una
hmm, i’m glad sergio is back but something feels a bit fishy about it no? how does some one who was said to be injured and needed like 3 or 4 weeks to rest be ready and just miss one match was it? and how did he get injured again? and even if he was injured for 3 weeks, he would have missed his charity match right?
anyways welcome back sergio!
the injury seemed a bit odd to me too. But I guess after the whole Wayne Rooney “injury” incident, I tend to question whether there is a “true” injury or the coach is “covering” for a player needing time off or what have you. Anyway, glad to hear he’ll be playing 🙂
So if both Arbeloa and Sergio are playing, it sounds like probably Marcelo won’t be playing unless Mou puts Sergio as one of the centerbacks and rests either Pepe or Carvalho. Will be interesting to see how that all works out.
I agree with you.. Something is up, but I don’t care, as long as he’s back!
What would the motivation for Sergio not really being injured be? That’s silly.
Personal issues? It happened to Wayne Rooney, no? Sergio was given permission to miss practice for “personal reasons” shortly before he got hurt. So that’s one possibility.
What happened to Canales? He hasn’t played or been called up in forever. Has he been on the death list by Mou since that awful CL game was it?
He sprained his left ankle in a practice session earlier this month and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks.
You guys should join our Gagoismo-page at Facebook. We simply loooove Fer! And something that I’ve had trouble finding is Gago with the captain’s armband. Could you help us poor Gagoistas? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gagoismo/147985048554447
WOOOOOOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEXIO is back!!!! ;D which means…….my fave kind of ICYMI post on Monday haha “manty lines”, Front & Back, and Baywatch gifs, the works! 😛
lol! I agree!
Oh sweet sweet Jesus boy. So good to see you again. :’)
Can you blame MFC for being kind of scared? If Pepe were in the process of throwing himself on top of me, I’d be bracing for the worst, too! (Also I now refer to Morata as MFC even though he’s NOT my favorite canterano! That would be the adorable gingerness of Alex Fernández, for reasons I cannot explain…)
I’m really happy to see Sergio back (as well as Kaká and Gago, too, of course, but I think we all know where my true loyalties lie), but I hope he’s not pushing his injury… although I can totally get behind any starting lineup which features both Sergio and Álvaro. Especially if it produces good TwitPics… hint, hint!
Great that Segio Ramos is back! I missed him a lot. And of course I missed Kaka too! I just watch the Real Madid games I think since October and I would love to see Kaka playing.
Btw.. When will the other Sergio be back? I mean Sergio Canales. I didn’t hear anything about him lately.
