in case you missed it – the White Christmas edition (I)
In case you missed it – Real Madrid vs. Levante [2010-12-22].
This post is just the goals, with the normal ICYMI post coming a bit later, since if I put everything together, you could go out and get a cup of coffee in the time it would take to load everything! So here we go, Madrid and their magnificent eight goals from last night, with each goal accompanied by a bit of the celebration that followed.
The team played so well last night, and really played as a team. The passing was especially superb, no?
1-0, minute 6, Benzema.
Note the bicicletas and Mesut Özil once again opting to rub a head to celebrate.
2-0, minute 10, Özil.
Awww, look at the piña there. Pepe always has to jump up on everyone.
3-0, minute 31, Benzema.
Handshakes, head pats, high fives and hand signals.
4-0, minute 45, Cristiano.
Note Cristiano sucking his thumb back there for Junior. I never noticed, but Pepe and Karim’s shaved heads look a bit alike.
5-0, minute 69, Benzema.
What a pass from Ángel di María and what a finish. And as the Benz knows, that’s goal number three for him. Chapeau.
6-0, minute 72, Cristiano.
Again, what a pass from Ángel di María. Marcelo likes to jump in too.
7-0, minute 74, Cristiano.
The Benzema-Cristiano partnership is fantastic. Not so fantastic – Cristiano’s attempt at something. I don’t even know what he’s doing. Maybe Sergio should give him some lessons on how to do proper somersaults.
Kaká was at the game. I think that’s all you need to know to draw a conclusion for this part of Cristiano’s celebration.
8-0, minute 89, Pedro León.
I love even numbers, so it was great that Madrid got one more goal in there, but I really wished that MFC could have scored. The team did honor his effort in creating the goal in their celebration, though that hair pulling seems to have hurt MFC a bit. Pepe, don’t be so rough!
A night to remember.
About CR7’s celebration for the 7-0 goal (the one with the hands).. I was listening to Ray Hudson comment and he said “and that’s for his girlfriend!” I spent the rest of the night laughing! 🙂

As much as I felt really bad for Levante getting demolished like that, I was very happy for all the goals. I too was really hoping that Morata scored but at least it was his attempt that set up the last goal for Pedro.
I read on the RM website that the team signed the game ball and gave it to him. What a super guesture from the guys!
And yeah…Pepe…a tug…not a yank! Talk to Arbeloa, I’m sure he can show you how it’s done. :p

I was at Bernabeu once (I’m not from Spain) this summer on the friendly game with Penarol and and I fell in love with this place from the first sight! I totally have to come back there!
go to a game that counts. Its a different atmosphere. Have been there for several times and never seen them loosing 🙂 But my last time is 4 years ago. Ahhh I miss it!

Poor MFC (what does that stand for, anyway?), Pepe seems to have really hurt him with the hair pulling, and he even did it again, even when MFC seems to have complained… I think it was really great that the team gave the match ball to him. That was a nice gesture.

Man i was soo disappointed when the keeper saved Morata’s shot! I really wanted him to score. would have been a great goal too. He seems like a penalty box predator.. much like Ruud was in his day.

This game was really a Christmas gift for me. They were played awesome. I love Morata he’s such a cutie. Pepe seriously made me laugh and morata saying P…. M…. meant that i really hurt. Thanks again Una you’re the Best.
