they’re not like you and me
La Sexta is currently airing a program called “Supercasas,” in which they show off some of the most luxurious and exclusive mansions (for there is no other word) in Spain by architect Joaquín Torres, who heads the architectural studio A-cero.
On Sunday, they took a look at the houses of former and current Madrid players Cristiano Ronaldo, Álvaro Arbeloa, Zinedine Zidane, Raúl and Míchel Salgado. You’ll either feel very, very jealous after seeing the photos, or you’re going to want to become a professional footballer stalker.
Let’s start with Cristiano. According to Joaquín Torres, Cris’ house of 800 square meters is spread out over one floor, and has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a Japanese patio, a trophy room and several kids’ rooms (which Cris asked for before he knew of the existence of his son). He also requested a piano, the first footballer to do so, according to the architect. He adds that Cris was very involved with the decoration, and that the initials “CR” are a constant motif around the house (notice that the couch is in the shape of a “C”).
One of the photos below is gratuitous (I think you can tell which one) but in my defense, the house is clearly visible in the background, if you can get past that marvelous view in the foreground (and yes, those swim trunks are so horrid that I have no trouble just imagining that they’re simply not there).

Meanwhile, the studio was hired to restore a duplex that Álvaro owns in Zaragoza, which is 200-300 square meters. It was completely renovated to fill it with light, and Álvaro requested a monochrome look, with everything in black and white.
Zidane’s house in Madrid is more classic, and he asked for a special garden to be built.
Raúl’s house in Madrid is certainly big enough for his five kids (and then some) and was made to order.
And Míchel Salgado’s summer house in Vigo (Galicia) has beautiful views of the ocean. The studio remodeled the exterior, and made it geometric and all in white. There is an indoor pool, and the colors white and red predominate in the interior. If this were my house, I’d want to live here all year round!

Wow, I’m speachless!! I don’t like Alvaro’s house though, it’s too spacy for me! It doesn’t feel like a “warm home” Anyway, it looks great!

From the pictures these houses look like nobody ever lived there and like they were wax museums. I would like to feel more family or simply human warmth there. But of course, these are only pictures, nobody really knows what’s inside 🙂
I like Zidane’s house best, because it’s not so modern and square as the others..

WOW Raul’s house is so nice…muy bonito. But I would not say no if Míchel Salgado gave me his summer house as a gift!
As a colleague of Joaquín Torres I have to say that his work is pretty good. But I’m not really sure if some of the the things shown are real.
Juniors room, the living room and the whole things of Álvaro are looking like renderings. But I’m not sure.

I doubt it, since the show is called Supercasas, and he lives in an apartment.
Really nice post. Cristiano’s house looks really nice and the fact that he wanted to have some rooms for children in his house is just really cute. So he was thinking about being father soon?
I don’t liked Alvaro’s house that much. It looks good but the “colour” (black and white) is just too boring.
Raul’s house has a nice architecture but it’s not good for a home. Looks a bit like a spaceship, doesn’t it?
Omg Michel Salgado has a very amazing house! I would love to live there! Well, who wouldn’t?
I’m actually not feeling any of the houses; they’re too modern and monochromatic for me since I prefer more of “lived-in” feel, cozy and with lots of carpet. But then again, they probably look a lot different inside with all the furnishings than what it looks like in the pictures?
Holy moly Raul’s house looks like a freaking space station.
I’m pretty sure these places cost more than I’ll make in my lifetime as a teacher; however, I can’t be bothered to envy them. They seem very cold and uninviting. I can’t imagine living like that.
Zidane’s place is the best.

I think CR7’s house is nice.. very ”Normal” and kinda ”warm”. Think his soon’s room is kinda boring, its cute but boring.
Alvaro’s house is so COLD! Black and white?? seriously?.. i love alvaro but his house is kinda,.. hmm.. i just don’t feel the warm in that house.
Zidane’s house is nice.. very moderen, but still very down to earth. very ”American”.
Raul’s house is nice.. but i would never imagine myself live there, cause i kinda don’t want to live in a spaceship.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVVVE Michel’s HOUSE! its beautiful! the way the house is built it just perfect, the furnitures is just wow! the design.. its very moderen, but not TOO much.. I LOVE IT!

Hahaha, who am i kidding?? i’m sitting here criticizing the houses…. i will never have the chance to live in any of them… and i would be glad to even get the chance to live in one of them.. even Alvaros lol:D
