following Real Madrid…

off-day activities

Several Madrid players took advantage of their free day to go watch some tennis at the Caja Mágica.  Cristiano Ronaldo took in the match between Rafa Nadal and Marcos Baghdatis, which Rafa won.  Also in his box was Fernando Verdasco, who had lost in the first round, and rock band Maná, who had ended a concert in Madrid the other day by saying, “we’re leaving now, because we also want to watch the game between Barça and Real…” He also stayed for another match, watching Feliciano López lose to Roger Federer, along with Xabi Alonso, who was accompanied by wife Nagore and son Jon (you can see the top of his head in the picture below).

Others – Peter Lion, Sergio Canales, Esteban Granero, Gago, Khedira – trained voluntarily at Valdebebas.

And Sergio, taking advantage of the break accorded to him due to his ineligibility to play in Tuesday’s game, has been in Sevilla, enjoying the Feria de Abril and watching bullfights.  When asked about Pipa’s annulled goal, he said, “luckily, there were tons of cameras and everyone can see what happened with the goal.  I congratulate my teammates because they played a great game.  And now we’re going to fight for Liga until it’s mathematically impossible.”

Courtesy of Denis’ twitter, we find out that Castilla’s theme song in their quest to move up a division is “Me encanta la vida” (I’m assuming it’s this one).
