In news that surprised no one, UEFA has decided not to sanction Sergio Busquets for allegedly aiming racist insults at Marcelo.  The Control and Disciplinary Committee told Barcelona today that they will not be suspending Busquets for five games, as one inspector of the body had proposed, “due to a lack of strong and convincing evidence.‬”  They might as well have written, “football has triumphed,” since we would all know from that simple phrase which way the decision went.

The only good thing about this is that I can’t wait to see what acting/diving/insulting Busquets does in the final.  He will probably be told to resist doing those things because all eyes will be on him, but I think they’re so ingrained in his style of play that he’s no longer able to control it.

In fact, you can make a drinking game out of it.  Do a shot for each time Sergio Busquets goes down without any contact, and two shots for each time he comes up clutching his face.  You’ll be drunk by the first 10 minutes.
