football this weekend!!

August 25, 2011

The strike is over, which means we’ll get to see football this weekend!  The AFE has called off the strike scheduled for the second jornada of the Liga after reaching an agreement with the LFP, following their seventh meeting.  Real Madrid is scheduled to play Zaragoza at La Romareda on Sunday at 20h.

The first jornada game will be made up on Jan. 22 next year, as that weekend (Jan. 21-22) is scheduled to host the first game of the segunda vuelta (or jornada 20).  The games scheduled for that weekend have been shifted to the beginning of May.  This means that Madrid will be playing Athletic at home on Jan. 22 and at San Mamés on May 2.  Great, I have another five months to work on my plan to relieve Javi Martínez (!!!) and Iker Casillas of their shirts!  The only bad thing is that this game will now be in the winter, so I will most likely have to deal with underlayers as well.

Underlayers just test your commitment to the cause! I think you can do it! I have faith 🙂
