Remember when I said Iker’s book, Iker Casillas – La Humildad del Campeón, was worth buying just for the baby pictures of Iker? Well, here’s proof.
Little Iker used to be so chubby! My favorites have to be the one of him holding baby Unai (there are lots more later on in the book of Iker and Unai), and the one with a mustache! Who knew that 20-some years later, his mustache would still be the center of attention? We also see that the baby photo Iker once posted on his Facebook and asked us to guess who it was was in fact him.
The book is 304 pages long, in full color, with photos on practically ever page. There are two prologues and 10 chapters, as follows:
Prologue I: Florentino Pérez.
Prologue II: Peter Schmeichel.
Chapter 1: Real Madrid, his only team.
Chapter 2: Four Ligas and one Copa.
Chapter 3: The Champions League, love at first sight.
Chapter 4: From Wembley to Wembley.
Chapter 5: How he plays.
Chapter 6: How others see him (includes the words of Fernando Hierro, Zubi, Aragonés, VDB, Silvino, Xabi and Xavi, among others).
Chapter 7: The XI of my life.
Chapter 8: Iker without gloves.
Chapter 9: His foundation, the most caring and humane side of him.
Chapter 10: Golden records.
The unamadridista critique: this book is fantastic, and again worth buying just for the photos alone (so, you don’t have to understand Spanish to enjoy it).

How much does the book cost?
Around 20 euros.
I wonder it they plan on selling it on amazon.. I hope so 😦 would suck if they only sell it in Spain..

The luxury edition is hardcover, has a dust jacket and includes six pullout pages, while the general edition is softcover.

Is there a place to buy it outside of Spain? The Real Madrid Shop only seems to take orders for delivery in Spain.

Omg the mustache. *dead* This is so adorable!! I’d already asked for this as one of my Christmas presents, so I’m glad to see that it’s going to be worth every penny! (Unlike a certain other book by a certain other Spanish goalkeeper KOFFPEPEKOFF. Too bad you can’t return books on the grounds of “this was in-fucking-comprehensible”.)

it’s on order and on it’s way from spain to canada as i type. SO! EXCITED! this sneak peek is making me squeal!!!
for those who want it and don’t live in spain, the real madrid online store does not have it yet (and as of sunday, still had no idea when it would be arriving), so i went to amazon.es … yes, the site is entirely in spanish, but with common sense (it functions exactly like the english site) and the help of google translate, i was able to order it there and have it sent overseas for the total cost of about 33 euros. money well spent!
