is this what rock bottom looks like?

December 22, 2011

… fashion-wise, I mean.  This is how Iker showed up to present his charity game today.  I was simultaneously horrified (that’s what he chose to wear???) and amused (ahhh, another typical “original” Iker outfit).  First of all, black is too harsh a color for him.  Second of all, the hat says, “look, I’m hip and young” (or at least trying to give the impression that I am) but the cardigan says, “look, I’m dowdy and old” (and I’ve had this sweater from since before you were born).  Plus, I hate the mixing of black and brown.  And then there’s that little point at the top of the hat.  What does it look like?  Yes, that’s what I’m thinking too.

In conclusion, this is another outfit to file away in my Iker’s house of style horrors folder.  On the upside, his face is adorable as always.

    But, now jacket, I can’t I just can’t!!

Oh gosh, Iker, man, what were you thinking! I love him, but THIS!

I agree, though, that his face is adorable.

I saw that facebook picture and thougt “OMG”!! That outfit is pure horror!!! But in the Real Madrid picture it doesn’t look that bad anymore. Or maybe it’s just because of his adorable face that I forget the rest about it 😉

I have a little question about the “partido”: do you know if it is allowed to bring professional (or more semi-professional) photo-cameras to the event? Last year at the Champions for Africa in the Vicente Calderon I had to leave my camera outside, but I would love to take some cute pictures of Iker & co. 😉

All I can see on my email notification is “is this what rock bottom looks like?” and I immediately though about the team and my heart was in my mouth thinking what happened?!!!! lol

Ahhh San Iker. I love you and your appalling taste in fashion. I would also love to burn each and every single checked shirt and old man sweater that you own. And your manpurse collection as well. 🙂

Seriously he looks like a homeless hobo

God, I was horrified when I saw this on my facebook feed. Maybe someone stole all the mirrors of his house?

“Iker’s house of style horrors folder”
That’s a folder I would never like to see (or would I? I don’t know. Curiosity and everything)

LOL hilarious. Iker needs fashion help…I really hope Xabi’s present to everyone (except maybe Arbeloa) was a style consultation session.

With Iker the first one up.

Oh Iker! I don’t care! He can do no wrong for me! I will believe that in his humbleness he dresses tackily to try to make it easier for everyone else to deal with how perfect he looks! Or else he’s just such a regular, real man (as well as our beautiful saint), that he just doesn’t know any better, doesn’t really care about fashion (like a sexy Mountain Man, or something…) & he needs me to shop for him & direct his clothing, which comes right back around to him being adorable and perfectly human ;D *sigh* XD Hala Iker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the hat says he was on his way to rob a bank, but the cardigan says he was on his way to visit a home for elderly citizens 😛

I love 5 O’clock shadow Iker. I agree black isn’t his color but I don’t hate this outfit. I do think he’s a bit underdressed for the occasion.

Oh, Una – whatever are you thinking! But I quite like Iker’s cardi. It looks nice and cosy. Perhaps he’s feeling self-conscious about his fluffy hair. If I could knit, I would make him a tasteful hat in shades of brown to match his cardi. Perhaps that’s a good enough reason for me to take up knitting.

  20. December 23, 2011 04:23

*sigh* maybe he was … cold? and absent-minded? and forgot to take his hat and cardigan off?

no, huh? yeah … i got nothing. there’s no way to defend that. his face is beautiful, as always, and i don’t even mind the cardi that much (although he could have dressed up a little to present something like this! for shame!) but that hat … oh my. that’s not a good look on ANYONE. (moreover, it also reminds me of when michael c hall (dexter) wore a similar one last year after all his hair fell out after his chemo treatment. 😦 )

on the plus side, the title of this post made me laugh until i cried — literally!

Perhaps Xabi should open up a style academy to teach everyone the art of sartorial elegance. Granero can be his teaching assistant.

Happy X-mas Una! Thanks for all the fantastics things you put in your blog.

Yeah but who cares what you think Una Madridista. Have you nothing else to do but harp on about people’s clothing? Really??

    • December 23, 2011 22:08

and have you nothing else to do than come into what is clearly meant to be a light-spirited and funny post and harp on una? really?? who cares what you think. either you didn’t get the joke, or you’re just as nasty as you’re wrongly accusing una to be. either way, it doesn’t portray you in the kindest of lights. merry christmas, grinch!

    • December 24, 2011 02:35

Lighten up Francis. If we didn’t care what Una thought, we wouldn’t be here, now would we?

    • December 24, 2011 04:52

That’s a rather rude comment. I know we’re all allowed to speak our minds, but maybe a little common courtesy for our fellow humans during the holiday season?

I don’t care what he wears. Just seeing him smile and make those amazing saves is enough for me.

  29. December 24, 2011 21:02

Perhaps Iker is channeling his inner Becks?
