four moments…

… from the game against Celta (I don’t have time to make ICYMI posts, sorry!). To start off with, we had a very enthusiastic fan of Xabi Alonso. Who can blame her, when the object of her affection stretches like this, nearly stealing the scene from Pepe being all adorably affectionate with Agustín?
Then later on in the game, Xabi and Cris looked like two children fighting over a ball (it was for the penalty shot), with Xabi telling Cris that it was his turn and Cris pouting in response. And the Bernabéu also showed its affection for Iker, who deserves that and so much more (even though it embarrasses him).

OMG that woman is awesome! I love how she’s all classy with her trench coat and gloves, then totally gets all fangirly for Mr. Perfect.
Also missed that tug of war over the penalty. I think Xabi may have been a little traumatized from earlier in the week when letting someone else take a penalty didn’t go so well (looking at you there Cesc!) Btw Una I was able to make the Spain-France match! I was actually a bit devastated that I didn’t get the chance to see Xabi score in person, and the draw was super frustrating. Thanks for your advice about getting tickets! I kept meaning to email you back to say thank you but kept forgetting. Glad you’re semi-back in action! It hasn’t been the same without you.

I’m not against Xabi or Cris. But I never have seen Xabi taking a penalty if CR is on the pitch, no? Wondering why Xabi wanted this…

I have been so angry about the shit that Iker has been getting. It’s unbelievable how people can’t appreciate the wonderful man/leader/captain we have. San Iker deserves his name and lives up to it in so many ways.

that woman acts like I’ll be acting, when I’m in Bernabeu and it’s Xabi’s turn to get announced. Just that I lack her elegant appearance.
It’s great that the Bernabeu didn’t forget to cheer on Iker, people seem to have taken him for too granted these days.

Una, I think you got it all wrong. It seems Xabi was telling him the ball was not pumped enough, and suggested Ronaldo use another ball. Watch the video as Xabi requests a new ball and hands it to Cris, please see link here:

This is the 2nd time Xabi and Cristiano fight for a PK! it occured as well in their 1st season 4 yrs ago under Pellegrini. In which Cristiano unwillingly let him take the PK so Xabi can score his 1st official goal with Madrid.

At first I thought Xabi wanted to take the penalty (Cris apparently did too, seeing the death-grip he had on that ball), but it turned out he was simply unsatisfied with the firmness (Lord, now I can’t stop picturing him and Xavi in deep discussion over footballs and grass -__-). When he finally managed to wrestle the ball off Cris he gave it a demonstrative squeeze and asked for a new ball from the sideline. Funniest bit was that Cris STILL wasn’t that convinced because he then tested them both himself before finally agreeing with Xabi and choosing the new ball instead XD
Xabi wanted to replace the ball. They weren´t fighting over anything.
