#11 with 10 days to go…

His playing time has diminished this season, but Ricardo Carvalho seems to have settled nicely into his role as the team’s “elder statesman.”  I noticed that whenever the canteranos join the training session, Ricardo is always there with a big smile to welcome them.

And he watches out for the young ones during games too!  José Rodríguez (17) is exactly half of Ricardo’s age (34), well for one more today because tomorrow is José’s birthday!

What are your favorite things about Ricardo Carvalho?

Favourite thing about Carvalho? The sassy “oh hey girl heeeeey” limp wrist that he does haha 🙂

Not gonna lie though, 11 is still Pirata to me 😦

i agree with alyssa, it’s weird seeing that number on his back. 😦

my favourite anecdote about carvalho is a very personal one: when i went to madrid a couple of months ago for my birthday, i was incredibly fortunate to have a connection arrange tickets for the deportivo match for me, plus bernabeu tour tickets. but what i wasn’t expecting as part of the package was an autographed carvalho jersey! it was a lovely gesture and a fantastic surprise. 🙂
