#10 with 9 days to go…

There were already hints last season that the bromance between Sergio Ramos and Mesut Özil could go down as one of our top ones in recent history.  After all, they were neighbors, they often got together at Mesut’s house to eat his noodles with garlic, tomatoes and eggs (as his dad revealed) and they shared a love for headbands, baseball caps and clothes with designer logos splashed on them.

This season, it went up to a whole new level.

Perhaps the most famous example from this season is Sergio wearing Mesut’s shirt under his own jersey in the game against Depor, because he wanted to dedicate his first goal of the season to his beloved Mesut (and perhaps also show his support).  Following that, Mesut described the two of them as “superamigos.”

Then came reports that they borrow each other’s cars, and lots of tweets and posts where they posted pictures of each other, called each other “bro” and in general lavished praise in the other’s direction, plus goal dedications.  Meanwhile, Sergio told “El Larguero” that Mesut is “super fun” and “you can see it in his eyes” (jokingly), that they understand each other “perfectly” between Mesut’s “half English” and his own “half English,” and that he’s taken charge of Mesut since the first day he arrived, to help him adapt to the city by telling him where to live, where to eat and things like that (also where to shop, I’m sure).   I love the idea of Mesut having a big brother in Sergio to take care of him in the big city!  Iker also said recently that “Sergio speaks a lot with Mesut” – I wonder if Mesut will end up with an Andaluz accent?  And would these be some of the words that Sergio has taught Mesut?  Some of them are quite useful to “ligar,” which I’m sure Sergio knows a lot about!

Soy muy feliz (with this bromance)!  How about you?
