following Real Madrid…

top 10 moments of La Décima (I)

How can the top moment of La Décima be anything but La Décima itself?  The tremendous bliss all of us madridistas felt in the moment the trophy was raised up, the feeling of relief after having waited 12 long years and inching closer with each passing year, the satisfaction from the way we won the final (and beating our longtime rival), the joy from being able to say “let the celebrations begin, we just won our tenth Champions League title”!

And now we have the opportunity to win our first trophy of the season, the Supercopa against Sevilla (20:45h).  I’m very excited for this season.  For one, we have the same coach as last year, which has been the exception rather than the rule for the past 15 years.  We also have some great new additions, although some of the departures saddened me and some of the signings exasperated me.  And we have the best team in the world, which has one more year of experience playing together.  All this makes me believe this will be the year of six titles, including yes, La Undécima.  (Please Madrid, don’t prove me wrong so early on!)

What are your thoughts?  And what were your favorite moments from the conquest of La Décima?

Here are a couple of leftover gifs and pictures, including acrobatic Iker (who knew he could do that?), crazy Luka (I guess he had to show off and shake that hair one last time before he cut it to fulfill his promise of doing so if Madrid won La Décima) and the celebrations at Cibeles and the Bernabéu, which I didn’t have the opportunity to go into further.

I hope you enjoyed this look back at the historic La Décima!
